The Online Bachelor's Degree in Communication is a well-rounded degree that includes courses that teach interpersonal communication, business and strategic communication, and media oriented communication.

Our professors, teaching the latest communication content based on academic peer-reviewed research, will provide students with a richer, more engaging, and rewarding learning experience than they would receive at many of the other established online-only institutions. This degree program has created one of the first truly effective Online Public Speaking courses.

The Communication Department has just received a large grant to produce high-quality video content to enhance many of the courses in this degree program such as COMM 3240 Business & Professional Communication, COMM 3400 Digital Media, COMM 3250 Principles and Practices of Advertising, COMM 3330 Gender and Leadership, COMM 3350 Integrated Marketing Communication, COMM 3800 Strategic Communication Tactics, COMM 2900 Writing for the Media, and COMM 4050 PR and Social Media.

Our graduates have careers in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Health Communication, Social Media Consultant, Communications and Campaign Consultant, Integrated Marketing Associate, College Advisor, Media Coordinator, Event Coordinator, and Entrepreneur.

Program Cost

The total program cost for a degree or certificate will be higher for students that have not previously satisfied prerequisite requirements.

Other course materials, including textbooks, may be required for purchase and typically costs $150-$300 per course. Students are responsible for providing their own computer and internet access.

Tuition rates are subject to change, updates take effect each Fall semester. Other course fees may apply.

Tuition

Bachelor of Arts in Communication

CO Resident: $314/credit
Online Non-Resident: $506/credit
Tech Fee: $100/course

Colorado Residents can apply to receive the Colorado Opportunity Fund stipend (COF) to help pay tuition costs.
COF stipend = $75 per eligible credit hour.

Transfer Admission Criteria

A maximum of 72 hours of transfer credit from 2-year colleges and a maximum of 90 hours of transfer credit from all schools combined.

UCCS also offers four options for obtaining credit by exam (AP, IB, CLEP, DANTES).

Unofficial Transcript Evaluation

E-mail us a copy of your unofficial transcript(s) from all colleges or universities where you have earned academic credit.

Your transcripts will be reviewed within (5) business days to determine how the credits may apply toward a UCCS online degree program.
